Day 8: Insert Creative Title Here :-)

Couple from Austin, on a 10 day tour.

My mountain man. :-)

Lovin' the flat roads

It's crazy how small the world can seem at times.  Our paths crossed with a couple from Austin that happened to be cycling in Washington State and ended up staying at the same guest house on the very same night. What are the odds? For the most part the miles seem to be getting somewhat easier.  The long and steady hills slow our progress to a slow crawl but we chug along and eventually get to our intended (usually) destination.  We arrived in Centralia, WA fairly early in the afternoon which was fortunate because we had made no arrangements.  While enjoying Starbucks's deliciously free wi-fi, a mother and daughter stopped by and chatted with us for awhile.  Debbie and her daughter Jamie told us that they have been advocates for the fight against breast cancer for quite some time.  Jamie lost a dear friend to breast cancer and since has participated in several runs with her mom in honor of her friend. We finally let them get back to the real reason they stopped at Starbucks and continued on our internet quest for a place to call home for the night.  After a bit of looking around we quickly found out that there was no real camping option within 20 miles and we no longer had the time or mental fortitude to press on.  Dad to the rescue!  Dad quickly solved the problem for us by getting in contact with local church members and before we knew it we were eating a wonderful strogenof dinner prepared by Cretia and Sarah Olsen.  The Olsen family (Allen, Cretia, Sarah and Moseby) were kind enough to open up their home to us and we greatly appreciate their kindness.  Jet also made a new friend in Moseby,  Sarah's rambunctious little pooch. With our bellies full with called it a night.
